It was a sunny, sparkling morning for this year's 23rd annual Walkathon with more people, dogs and sponsors than ever before. The event raised over $274,000, a very impressive amount considering the economic climate.

The crowd was entertained by The Calendar Girls and serenaded by the DeLei-ed Parrots, a great band. On the grounds were refreshments, raffles and a silent auction. Some super dog-related baskets went home with lucky winners.

Among the more than 1,800 people attending was Diego Borja with his guide dog Mustang. Borja says coming to the event was unexpected. His puppy raiser gave the trip to him as a Christmas gift. "It was very surprising. I had not heard from her in a while and I wasn't sure if I could come," said Borja. To top it all, she even raised a significant donation amount for the event.

Borja and the many other graduates who came had a fantastic day. We all moved Forward Together.
